One of our past members, Erin Hayes is undertaking a massive North to South Wales triathlon over the weekend of the 17/18 July.

She will be cycling 192 miles, from Llandudno to Cardiff Bay. Then she will be completing a half-marathon (13.1 miles), followed by a swim across Barry Island.

This is being done in aid of the Mental Health Charity Hafal and in memory of her childhood friend and past Rhoose lifeguard member, Dylan Connelly who sadly took his own life in May, aged just 22.

The Connelly family have always had strong roots in the club with Miff helping to start sandhoppers to her boys who all were a part of the club growing up.

It would be great to see both current and old members of the club coming together to cheer on Erin and show our support during the final swim leg. You may wish to swim, board paddle or cheer from the beach, all is encouraged in memory of Dylan.

The plan is to meet at Whitmore bay lifeguard club at 11 on Sunday 18th July. If you want to take part in the water please leave a comment below so we have an idea of numbers.
